Finding Yourself

We are taught to ignore our internal guidance system and rely on our mental capacity to make decisions. This is ignoring our ‘intuition’ or ‘gut instinct’ or ‘subconscious’.

Everyone has an internal guidance system which connects us to a higher awareness. Some people refer to this as our connection to spirit guides, source power, God, Allah, universal energy etc. We are all meant to learn about this in our own way and use this to navigate our way through life.
The Bible references this numerous times:
“likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities; for we know not what we should pray for as we ought; but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered” – Romans 8:26 KJV
“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are Spirit and they are life.” – John 6:63 KJV).
Some people refer to this as ‘the universe pulling them in one direction or another’.
The term inspiration means ‘being in spirit’.
When you hear the voice in your head, remember you are not the voice, but the one that is aware of it. Stillness is the language God speaks, everything else is a bad translation –Ekart Tolle
Many people have failed to come across any information to understand this exists. It is hard to conceptualize for some because it is not tangible. There is significant overlap in this concept across major fields of study such as Religion and Psychology.
Psychology refers to this concept as the ‘subconscious’.
Spiritual leaders call this clairvoyance or clairaudience, clairecognizance or clairsentinence. They believe that we all have this ability, but some have certain channels open better than others. Ie. Some people receive these signals through visions while other may receive these signals through feelings. We all have some form of connection.

This internal voice or your connection to source energy can be ignored through out life, but the more you do so, the more you are probably going to be led in the wrong direction.
Ex. When you are driving to a specific destination with your GPS turned on, suddenly it starts to say “recalculating, take a U-turn” and instead of listening, you shut it off because you find the GPS sounds annoying.
If you are the kind of person who has a racing mind it is most likely that you are not in tune with these inner messages which may come as a strong feeling or instinct.

Strengthen this to find yourself and get back on track
“There are two great milestones which occur in life, the day we are born and the day we find out why”

Tune into your feelings, emotions and instincts. What are they saying? Figuratively, not literally. This higher awareness is much stronger and more powerful than your mental aptitude. Meditate.
Write down the things that you are passionate about. If you can’t think of many things, it is time to start exploring new things and tune into how you ‘feel’ about doing each one.
You don’t have to ‘stick’ to anything. If you truly enjoy what you’re doing it won’t feel like you are being forced to be there. Motivation will come intrinsically rather than extrinsically.
Ask yourself ‘why’ you are doing things.
Gravitate towards social interactions with people who make you feel good and lift you up rather than put you down.
Stop being ‘cerebral’ about what is going to make you happy. Ie. bigger house, more money, better looks etc. This concept only exists in the moment. So take things one day at a time and deal with each day as it comes. Happiness exists now, not in the future.
Stop being overly cautious – being a coward prevents us from finding our passion.
Have a realistic game plan for overcoming how and why you are currently stuck.
