Emotional Freedom Technique
Traumatic events may be difficult for us to move on from however theraputic intervention is the best place to turn. By seeking help from a trained professional you can seek out support in order to minimize the cause of impairment to your daily life. One technique that I have found to be interesting is called the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). Practitioners must be separately trained to conduct this form of theraputic intervention as it is not standard practice. EFT is a method which focuses on the use of energy points or meridians in your body. Much like Reiki or Acupuncture the focus is to tap on these points, while discussing a sequence of events which led to the trauma currently impairing your life. Although Western medical practices do not currently emphasize such methods, this knowledge has been around for thousands of years and used by ancient cultures from around the world. EFT is an evidence based practice demonstrating a huge reduction of Post-Traumatic based symptoms in past and present military personal. This method reprograms the Qi-energy feedback in our bodies and enhances a smoother flow of energy when the brain begins to think about the traumatic event. It also helps the heart and mind connection to be reprogrammed in a smoother way to alleviate the tense feelings often associated with PTSD.
