Psycho-somatic
Each client brings a unique perspective of how they view the world and how they see life in their existence. Some clients I speak to are experiencing a range of somatic issues such as numbness, tingling, headaches, bodily disturbances and so on. Our current understanding for healing these types of ailments is largely a ‘Westernized’ viewpoint. We seek Doctors when we are sick and then we receive treatment by medical procedures and pharmaceuticals. We also seek out a Psychiatrist when a prescription is needed to heal our mental health. Although this is our current and most popular paradigm for treatment at present, there have certainly been others with equally or greater collective popularity and reliability over the years. For example, I often refer to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which has been in existence for thousands of years. Its most basic principle is that each person has Qi which is life force energy that circulates through out the body. Many people go for Acupuncture treatment realizing this process can activate the internal energy in our body and release energetic blockages. Others practice what is known as Reiki which is energy transfer healing from one person to another. Although these practices are not as popular as the conventional medical model, it is important to realize what TCM practitioners would understand as obvious: your thoughts, moods and emotions, impact your body and its bodily function. This is known in the field of Psychology as “psycho-somatic”. When we begin to understand the principles of mind, body and soul we can learn to shift our thinking and negative thoughts out of necessity. Negative ruminations of any sort, after various lengths of duration will impact your overall health. An interesting book called Carcinogenic Mind: The Psychosomatic Mechanisms of Cancer worded this concept as such:
“Alexander Mitscherlich formulated the concept of two-phase psychological defense. If the intra-psychic conflict that underlies the traumatic experience is not resolved, then the first phase of defense is developed—the mental one. Here, owing to the action of various forms of psychological defense, neurotic symptoms associated with emotional and behavioral disorders begin to arise. If these methods of defense prove ineffective, the second phase begins—the bodily phase, during which somatic disorders start developing.”
As Bruce Lipton mentions in the attached video clip, “energy can be adjusted by other energy rather than through chemistry”. He also states that “research has now demonstrated that energy based information signals are 100x more effective than controlling biology with alchemical signals”. He also believes that when this knowledge is more popularized, collectively we will move away from the pharmaceutical pursuit of healing, towards an energetic model for health.

Posted January 19, 2023 5:45 amThis is very interesting Sasha and something I would like to explore more of. I have always been in this kind of mindset as my Deda ( grandfather) was a healer. If we had a headache or ailment he would put his hand on the area with pain and tell the pain to leave our body as it is not welcome etc. He was also diagnosed with prostate cancer at 70 years old and we were told it would be our last Xmas with him. He went to bed asking God for help on how to heal himself. He woke up with a concoction formula of horse radish, garlic and a whole slew of other things and drank that everyday. He had no radiation or chemo and the Dr’s were stumped. He went on to live another 26 years and died at 96. I do believe my current situation of 8 years has wreaked havoc on me on top of the situations before and I would definitely like to explore this with you at some point. Thanks for the posts I’m going to read some more.
